Alex Peacock: Procurement Specialist

Alex Peacock currently serves as a Maryland APEX Accelerator Procurement Specialist. Alex joined the team in November 2022. Alex holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Catholic University. He also is a Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) with the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).

 

Alex started a career in procurement working in the aerospace industry work for large prime contractors TRW and the Boeing Company; he further worked as a Contracting Officer with the Financial Responsibility & Management Assistance Authority, (DC Control Board), a federal government agency that was responsible for overseeing the financial
management of the District of Columbia government to financial solvency.

 

After his tenure with the DC Control Board, Alex started a professional services firm, Business Strategy Consultants in 2001. The firm provided acquisition, finance, and operational support to various federal government agencies. The firm was 8(a) certified during its existence and certified as a Minority Business Enterprise with the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Prince George’s County Government. The firm grew to 50 employees during the twenty years of being in business. Alex closed the business in 2021 to concentrate on his passion to provide assistance and counseling to small businesses to help them navigate the many processes of doing business with federal, state, and local governments.
