Kathy Wajer currently serves as a Maryland PTAC Procurement Specialist. Ms. Wajer has been a part of our program since 2016, and her primary area of assistance lies in Harford, Cecil and Baltimore Counties. With her 11 years experience at Bank of America and background in marketing, Kathy is a dual threat that can service clients in very unique ways. Since joining the PTAC Mrs. Wajer has serviced 141 clients and done over 200 counseling hours and assisted her clients in winning 3 contracts totaling over $2 million. Kathy also has a wide array of experience in:


  • Experience in Finance and Banking:

-Mrs. Wajer’s experience in finance and banking is one of her strong suits. She expanded Harford County’s loan funds by approximately $900,000; over $100 million in revenue bond transaction, and acquired $500,000 in grant dollars obtained from the Department of Commerce. She has managed a bank branch worth $20 million and became a commercial lender to support eight branches. Mrs. Wajer has also managed a $15 million loan portfolio in Harford/Cecil County.


  • Accounting:

-Kathy is experienced in budgets and accounts receivable and payable, preparing financial statements, preparing bank deposits, and organizing records. Her experience in this field makes her knowledgeable in government accounting requirements and practices.


  • Economic Development:

-Her work with the Harford County Economic Corporation gives Mrs. Wajer a wealth of experience in economic business development to include the establishment of the county’s entrepreneurial and incubator program called Harford’s Business Edge Inc. Mrs. Wajer played an important role in the attraction, retention and expansion of businesses in Harford County. She also conducted four successful annual Business Appreciation Week events and managed the introduction for the statewide Start-Up Maryland Program to the county.
